USPS Unveils More New Stamps for 2025
The U.S. Postal Service has announced five exciting additions to the 2025 stamp program. The new stamps will celebrate a diverse range of subjects, from a traditional Native American cultural gathering to a beloved outdoor sport, as well as historic American battlefields and even journeys to the farthest reaches of space. These beautifully designed stamps promise to captivate and educate, offering collectors and the public alike an opportunity to honor and learn about our nation’s rich heritage and beyond.
Spiral Galaxy and Star Cluster
For the second consecutive year, stunning images captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will grace the 2025 Priority Mail® and Priority Mail Express® stamps.
The Priority Mail® stamp showcases the spiral galaxy NGC 628, a vast swirl of stellar material located 32 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Pisces. The Priority Mail Express® stamp features the jellyfish-like star cluster IC 348, found about 1,000 light-years away in the constellation Perseus. Both awe-inspiring images were captured by JWST using its advanced NIRCam (Near-Infrared Camera) instrument.
Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamps using images provided by NASA and other space agencies.
Freshwater Fishing Lures
Using vibrant, original photographs by Sarah Cramer Shields, art director Greg Breeding designed the Freshwater Fishing Lures stamps with avid anglers in mind. Each image highlights the beauty and craftsmanship of some of America’s most iconic freshwater fishing lures — some of which have been used for more than a century to reel in trophy fish from lakes and rivers across the nation.
The stamp pane features close-up images of five popular lure designs — crankbait, popper, spoon, spinner, and wakebait — captured in a striking array of colors that showcase their artistry and function.
Battlefields of the American Revolution
To mark the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution, the Postal Service will release a pane of 15 stamps that invite us to reflect on the fight for independence. This special issuance pairs dramatic illustrations of key moments in the war with powerful photographs of battlefields and historic sites, focusing on five pivotal turning points: the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the Battle of Bunker Hill, the Battle of Trenton, the Battles of Saratoga, and the Battle of Yorktown.
Artist Greg Harlin created original watercolor paintings for each of the five battle scenes, which appear alongside photographs of historic sites related to each battle. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamps with art by Harlin and photographs by Jon Bilous, Richard Lewis, Tom Morris, Gregory J. Parker, and Kevin Stewart.
Powwows: Celebrating Native American Culture
Finally, the Postal Service will celebrate powwows — Native American social and ceremonial gatherings filled with music, dance, and festive regalia — with a new stamp pane. As part of its mission to tell the stories of all Americans, USPS continues its commitment to celebrating the living culture and heritage of Indigenous peoples with these important stamps.
Cochiti Pueblo artist Mateo Romero created original paintings depicting four powwow dancers, each captured in dynamic motion against vivid, colorful backgrounds. Art director Antonio Alcalá designed the stamp pane, carefully highlighting the dancers’ movements and traditional attire.
