About This Stamp
Non-denominational C postage stamps in sheet, booklet, and coil forms were placed on sale October 11, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee. The value of the stamps was 20 cents; the new first-class postage rate was effective November 1, 1981. The C postage items were intended for domestic use only.
The designer was Bradbury Thompson of Riverside, Connecticut, and the modeler was V. Jack Ruther. The sheet stamps were printed in the gravure process, with 100 stamps to a pane. The booklet panes and coils were printed in the intaglio process, with two panes of 10 stamps each in a booklet and coils of 100, 500, and 3,000 coil stamps to a coil.
