About This Stamp

The Kentucky Statehood commemorative stamp was issued on June 1, 1992, in Danville, Kentucky, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Kentucky's entry into the Union as the 15th state.

The stamp features an image of My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. The home was immortalized in the Stephen Collins Foster song, which became Kentucky's official state song in 1928.

Designed by Joseph Petro of Lexington, Kentucky, the stamps were printed in the photogravure process by Stamp Venturers, Inc., and issued in panes of 50.
