About This Stamp
Issued in Washington, D.C., the 29-cent traditional Christmas stamp features a detail of Elisabetta Sirani's 1663 Virgin and Child. This masterpiece is housed at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
This stamp was the first of its ilk to feature the work of a woman, as all previous artwork used in designs for the traditional Christmas stamps had been completed by male artists.
