About This Stamp

A 20-cent commemorative stamp honoring the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest award for valor, was issued June 7, 1983, at the Pentagon near Washington, D.C. The stamp honors not only the medal but all those to whom it has been awarded.

Designed by Dennis J. Holm and modeled by V. Jack Ruther, the stamp was printed in the offset/intaglio process, with 40 stamps per pane.
