About This Stamp
The 29-cent Oregon Trail commemorative stamp went on sale February 12, 1993, in Salem, Oregon. In addition, those cities and towns of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Idaho that lay along the Oregon Trail made the stamp available for customer purchase on February 12. American pioneers followed this route as they moved westward during the 1840s.
The stamp was designed by Jack Rosenthal.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing manufactured the stamps in the offset/intaglio process with panes of 50.
