About This Stamp

The 1983 20-cent Volunteerism stamp, issued on April 20 in Washington, D.C., honors Americans who contribute time and service to others. Designed by Paul Calle, the stamp features two hands reaching for each other. It was inspired by President Reagan's volunteer initiatives.
