With a career spanning major films and the fine arts, Puerto Rican artist Karla Ortiz has earned international recognition for her design sense, realism, and talent for character-driven storytelling. She has contributed to high-profile projects including Jurassic World, World of Warcraft, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Infinity Wars, Loki Seasons 1 and 2, Eternals, and most notably the design of Doctor Strange for Doctor Strange.
Ortiz’s figurative work has been exhibited at galleries including Spoke Art and Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco; Nucleus Gallery, Thinkspace, and Maxwell Alexander Gallery in Los Angeles; and Galerie Arludik in Paris. For this stamp pane, Ortiz created the portrait of Nathanael Greene. She lives in San Francisco with her cat, Bady.
